16 Oct 2025

The University of Edinburgh, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, invites exceptional young leaders from Africa to apply for its Online Postgraduate Scholarships for the 2026/27 academic year.

This initiative is designed to support talented, driven individuals who have overcome barriers to education and are committed to pursuing advanced studies in sustainability, climate leadership, and related fields while continuing to work or study in their local contexts.

University of Edinburgh Mastercard Foundation Online Postgraduate Scholarships 2026/27 Description Details

The Online Postgraduate Scholarship provides a transformative opportunity to earn an online Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma, both of which are fully equivalent to degrees taught on campus.

Applicants can choose from a range of sustainability-focused programmes aimed at fostering the next generation of leaders prepared to address pressing global challenges.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program aims to cultivate a community of talented, entrepreneurial, and compassionate leaders from across Africa, empowering them to drive sustainable change and address the climate crisis.

By combining academic rigor with leadership development, the program equips Scholars with the knowledge, skills, and networks to implement innovative solutions in climate adaptation, global health, biodiversity, and social justice.

Scholars are expected to engage in activities that nurture leadership, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving, while applying their learning to real-world challenges within their local communities and broader international contexts.
