Eligibility Requirements for Hardiman PhD Scholarship 2026
To be considered for the Hardiman PhD Scholarship, Applicant must:
- Have a first or upper second class honours primary degree or equivalent.
- Not currently registered as PhD students or who have been previously awarded a PhD.
- Satisfy the English Language requirements of the University of Galway.

Applicants must nominate a PhD supervisor.
The proposed supervisor must submit a Supervisor Form by 6 February 2026, 17:00 Irish Time.

Applications may be submitted in English or Irish only.
- Provide Academic References
Two academic references are required to indicate the applicant’s suitability and potential to undertake postgraduate research.
