Description
The Philosophy unit at the Department of Communication, Faculty of Humanities, University of Copenhagen (UCPH), Denmark, invites applications for a Ph.D. position in philosophy to be filled by January 1, 2024, or as soon as possible. The position is fully funded for 3 years. This Ph.D. position is part of a research project financed by the Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF) and led by Associate Professor Thor Grünbaum. Applicants are asked to situate and develop their research plan within the framework of the larger Theory Crisis in Cognitive Neuroscience project.
The Ph.D. project should address the replication crisis and theory crisis in cognitive science from the perspective of a Bayesian philosophy of science. The Ph.D. project should engage with the recent philosophy of science and philosophy of confirmation, as well as relevant theoretical, methodological, and empirical studies in psychology. The successful candidate will be working in close cooperation with philosophers as well as cognitive psychologists and neuroscientists associated with the CoInAct Research Group (https://psychology.ku.dk/coinact/) and is expected to partake in the activities of CoInAct daily.
