Description
Under an agreement among the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS/UNESCO), funding is provided for up to 50 students/scholars from developing countries to pursue doctoral degrees in China for a maximum duration of 4 years.
This year marks the official launch of a new sub-category within the ANSO Scholarship: the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship. Aligned with the priorities of TWAS/UNESCO, particular emphasis (though not exclusive) will be placed on two target groups: Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and women. TWAS/UNESCO aims to select up to 50 PhD students annually from developing countries in the South for this category. CAS, a prominent founding member of ANSO, serves as the primary sponsor for the ANSO Scholarship. TWAS and UNESCO, also founding members of ANSO, contribute to the funding of ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship recipients. ANSO extends an invitation to all interested members and parties to collaborate in creating a more diverse scholarship program.
