Doctoral Researcher in PAIN
The faculty of Arts is seeking a Doctoral Researcher interested in fixed-term employment from January 1, 2023, to June 30, 2026. This position is in the Department of Philosophy, History and Art Studies.
Eligibility: Interested applicants are expected to have an interest in an MA in history or a related field, good command of the English language, as well as the ability to pursue Doctoral Research evidenced by a proposal. Successful applicants will be working with an Academy of Finland – financed research project, investigating the long-term history of embodied experiences of pain in the British Atlantic world during the period ca.1600–1900 (PI Dr Soile Ylivuori).

Doctoral Researcher, ELBOW
This offer comes with a fixed term of employment from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2026. Successful applicants will be employed to complete their PhD studies in the Doctoral Programme in History and Cultural Heritage. It is a funded research project involving the European Research Council-funded research project Medical Electricity, Embodied Experiences, and Knowledge Construction in Europe and the Atlantic World, c.1740–1840 (ELBOW).
Eligibility: Interested applicants are expected to have a Master’s Degree in history, history of science, or a related field. Should also possess good collaboration skills, basic computing skills, proven ability and motivation to do independent research.
