Dear Scholarship Enthusiasts, you know we keep you updated from time to time. Well, in the spirit of keeping you updated, it’s time to start going through those documents and files again in preparation for the Chevening 2024 Scholarships. If you remember, we made a post at the beginning of the year about scholarships to watch out for in 2023 (insert). Chevening will be open from September 12 till November 7, 2023
Here’s all you need to know about Chevening Scholarships
Chevening offers a fully funded one-year master’s degree in the UK for outstanding young leaders around the world. The Chevening scholarship is competitive and technical, but if you prepare your documents following the requirements, and submit them before the application deadline you may just be a beneficiary.
ELIGIBILITY
You can apply for Chevening Scholarship if you meet the following requirements:
- A citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory. To know if your country is eligible, check the territory (insert link) part of the Chevening website.
- Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended.
- Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry into a postgraduate programme at a UK university by the time you submit your application. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK.
- Have at least 2 years of work experience. In hours, it is 2,800.
- Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and receive an unconditional offer from one of these choices by the deadline listed on the application timeline.
APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
Chevening is a scholarship body, but they don’t determine what each school requires for their degrees. Meaning, you still need to check the school you’re applying to, for their requirements and submit your application before their deadline also while taking note of Chevening application deadlines.
We can however suggest that the following documents will most likely be requested so that you can know what to expect.
- University Degree Certificates.
- University Transcripts in English.
- Proficiency in Language Tests (IELTS).
- Statement of Purpose
- Writing Sample
- Portfolio
- Appointment Letter at work
