The Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarships (CF-MGS) are provided by Monash University to support international students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Master’s degrees.
The Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarships fully cover tuition fees, and provide an annual stipend of $36,063 and a relocation allowance to eligible applicants.

Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarships are provided by Monash University to support students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees.
These scholarships are co-funded by Monash University and the enrolling faculty/academic unit and are available to help support students with living costs while studying at Monash.
Centrally managed scholarships for Australian campuses are awarded through a highly competitive selection process in which your academic record, research output and research experience are assessed.
Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarship, applicant must meet the criteria stated below:
- Be either an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian humanitarian visa holder, or an International student.
- Meet Monash’s competitive scholarship selection process requirements.
- Meet Monash’s English language proficiency requirements.
Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarship 2025 (CF-MGS) Benefits
The CF-MGS provides:
- A living allowance (stipend).
- A relocation allowance.
- Successful international applicants will also be awarded a faculty tuition paying scholarship.
Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarship 2025 Supporting Documents
Applicants will need to provide supporting documents as part of their application. It’s best to have all the documentation on hand before starting application. Applicants doing a performance-based PhD would be asked for additional information and supporting documents.
If any of the documents are not in English, Applicant need to provide certified translated copies. The preference is translations made by NAATI-qualified translators.
Before submitting your application, Applicant need to have a valid Invitation to Apply.
You don’t need an invitation if you’re:
- Submitting a scholarship-only application,
- Applying for a clinical psychology course (i.e. course code 4585 or 4586), or
- Currently enrolled in a research degree at Monash and are applying to transfer to another Monash research degree.
In these cases, Applicants may upload a blank document or their previous invitation instead.
For applicants that are currently enrolled and applying to transfer to another Monash research degree (e.g. PhD to masters or masters to PhD), you should also upload a document outlining the reasons for your transfer request.
An academic resumé (CV) is required as part of your application. The CV should include:
- Academic qualifications.
- Scholarships and awards.
- Relevant employment.
- Publications, Exhibitions or Performances.

- Applicants do not need to specify which scholarship they are applying as they are automatically considered for all graduate research scholarships (where eligible).
