To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates;

Cranfield Sensing wastewater for real-time public health – PhD

Job Description 

The  exciting PhD opportunity aims on sensing wastewater for real-time public health, and rapid sensors for rapid and on-site wastewater surveillance. The candidate will be working with a highly interdisciplinary and international team to develop the advanced sensors technology for wastewater surveillance to provide new understanding for real-time public health. 

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this funding, applicant

must;

  •  Be a UK national. 
  • Have a first- or second-class UK honours degree or equivalent in a related discipline.

Radar Range and Doppler Resolution Techniques for Electronic Warfare

Job Description 

The project will be concerned with developing novel range and Doppler resolution techniques and prediction solutions that allow an EW system to distinguish two targets with high performance in hostile environments. The project will allow the student to acquire unique expertise in Electronic Warfare, radar systems and radar signal processing.

This MSc by Research project (with possible extension to PhD) is concerned with studying and modelling the behaviour of innovative optical designs.  The project will allow the student to investigate the performance of innovative optical designs using existing optical modelling tools and techniques.

  • Have a a minimum of an upper Second Class UK Honours degree or international equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline.

The project will be concerned with studying the effects of high energy propagation in poor weather and investigate methods for increasing energy transfer on an intended object. The project will allow the student to acquire expertise in electro-magnetic propagation and sensing with electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR) and radar systems.

A funded PhD studentship is available within the Autonomous and Cyber Physical Systems Centre at Cranfield University, Bedfordshire, UK. The main research is to improve the performance of extreme learning by integrating this prior knowledge into the learning mechanism.
