Description
This Ph.D. project focuses on the design of novel medium access control and radio resource management enablers for the efficient support of heterogeneous demanding services in a 6G air interface. Specifically, the project will explore new methods, including AI techniques, that leverage context information for the specific operational scenario and application(and eventually, the capability of partially controlling the radio environment) for a high-performance low energy design.
Eligibility
Successful applicants should have the following qualities and qualifications:

Research and teaching are in the absolute world elite in the field of energy, and we have extensive and leading workshops and laboratory facilities, where research and innovation are carried out in direct collaboration with industry to a great extent. One or more fully funded Ph.D. stipends are available in the Centre for Acoustic Signal Processing Research(CASPR). CASPR is anchored in the Section for Artificial Intelligence and Sound(AIS), Department of Electronic Systems, Aalborg University, Denmark. CASPR performs research and education in advanced signal processing for hearing assistive devices including hearing aids, headphones, and headsets.http://caspr.es.aau.dk. The potential scope of the Ph.D. stipends could include multimodal signal processing for hearing assistive devices such as users’ EEG, low complexity DNNs using Bayesian learning and stochastic computing, advanced speech enhancement, and novel learning paradigms including self-supervised learning, etc.
Eligibility
We are looking for highly motivated, independent, and outstanding students that desire to do a successful 3-year Ph.D. at Aalborg University. The ideal candidate will have a M.Sc.andegree in statistical signal processing, audio processing, auditory perception, machine learning, or information theory. Good English verbal and written skills are a must, and excellent undergraduate and graduate grades are desired.
