Course Overview
The GeT MA program is offered jointly by two top universities: the Institute for Social Sciences at the Humboldt University in Berlin and the Graduate School of Social Sciences at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey.
All students of the German-Turkish course begin their studies in Ankara in the first year and study in Berlin in the second year. Upon completion of the program, graduates from both universities are awarded a double degree (Master of Arts). Due to the international profile of the German-Turkish course, the program language is English. Applicants are not expected to be fluent in German or Turkish. German and Turkish language courses are offered in Ankara as part of the GeT MA program.
With a 3 month internship, the program gives students the opportunity to supplement their academic knowledge with practical experience. In this way, students gain valuable insights into the job market in Germany, Turkey or another country. The course aims in particular to deal with the political and social systems of Germany and Turkey as well as with their respective European dimension. The decisive factor here is the double, mutually mirrored perspective from which the course content is viewed by the bi- or multinational group of teachers and learners
