Scholarship Description
Great Scholarship is in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, The University of Manchester is offering five fully-funded scholarships to students in Bangladesh, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, Mexico and Nigeria, applying for one-year master’s programmes, who will enrol in the 2024/25 academic year. Each scholarship, worth a minimum of £10,000, is a stepping stone for students enrolling in one-year master’s programmes for the academic year 2024/25. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects at 72 Institutions in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students to access world class UK higher education opportunities. These scholarships are a beacon of hope for students aspiring to study a variety of subjects across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Applications has been opened to relevant offer-holders from December, 2023.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the GREAT scholarship, Applicant must;
- Be a citizen of Bangladesh, Ghana, Mexico, Nigeria or Greece.
- Be motivated and academically able to follow and benefit from a UK postgraduate taught course.
- Meet the English language requirement of the UK University.
- Be willing to embody the UK higher education experience, by attending lectures and tutorials and engaging with extra-curricular activities.
- Act as an ambassador for UK higher education, by promoting the value of studying at a UK University.
- Be willing to establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment.
- Be willing to represent the high standards of the GREAT brand by becoming an advocate for scholarships;
- Be willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK;
- Be willing to demonstrate future contribution to capacity-building and socio-economic advancement.
- Be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships.
- As an alumnus or alumna of the GREAT Scholarships, be willing occasionally to speak to potential candidates.
