United Nations Japan Scholarship Program 2024 – Apply Now

United Nations Scholarship is a financial program for university students and doctors that offers a variety of research opportunities in nanosatellite systems.  The Japan Long-Term Scholarship was established by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the Government of Japan in cooperation with the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech).

United Nations Scholarship Term Scholarship Program 

Maximum of three (3) students for the Master’s program (for 2 years) and maximum of three (3) students for the Master’s program (for one year).  When the thesis defense is completed, the title of Master’s or Doctorate is given. Qualified candidates will enter the Aerospace Engineering International Course (SEIC) after passing the entrance exam at the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyushu Institute of Technology.  

Eligibility for the 2024 Japan Scholarship Program   

To be considered for the United Nations Scholarship:  

i. Applicant must come from a developing country or non-established country. 

ii. Applicant must be born on or after April 2, 1989. 

iii. Applicant must have the necessary academic and professional infrastructure for the relevant program. Applicants seeking a master’s degree must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree (four-year college) in an engineering discipline. Candidates who wish to pursue a PhD must have completed a master’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent field (5-year university). 

United Nations Scholarship Benefits 2024

i. Candidates will receive a monthly stipend of approximately 144,000 yen from the Japanese Government. Funds are used to cover housing, food, local transportation, and other expenses. 

ii. All candidates will be given flight tickets between the international airports of their country of citizenship and Narita International Airport or Fukuoka International Airport.  

iii. Entry fees, tuition fees, and entry fees will be paid by Kyutech.
