As a Chevening partner, the University of Kent has announced applications for the 2026 Chevening Scholarships in the UK.

The University of Kent welcomes applications from all Chevening-eligible countries for any one-year taught master’s degree based at our UK campuses.

In the 2023-24 academic year, 9 Chevening Scholars studied at Kent. Kent celebrates its Chevening Scholars, inviting them to VIP events such as a visit to the Lord Mayor of Canterbury.

All applicants who wish to be considered for an award at Kent are encouraged to select the university as their first preference within their Chevening application.

University of Kent Chevening Scholarship in UK Description Details

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FDCO) and partner organisations.

The University of Kent has officially announced its participation in the Chevening Scholarship 2026 program, opening the doors for ambitious international students to pursue a fully funded postgraduate degree in the UK.

With its strong track record of welcoming global scholars, Kent continues to be one of the leading destinations for Chevening awardees.

The University of Kent has a long-standing relationship with Chevening, which has successfully placed scholars from all over the world at the university for many years. Kent is proud to be a Chevening partner, and offers three partner scholarships, in addition to the standard Chevening Scholarships.

University of Kent Chevening Scholarship in UK Benefits

The scholarship includes the following valve;

  • A full tuition fee waiver.
  • A monthly stipend.
  • Travel costs to and from the UK.
  • The cost of a visa application as well as a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK.

Eligibility Requirements for Chevening Scholarship 2026 in UK

  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country.
  • Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended.
  • Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a one year postgraduate programme at Kent. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree, but varies depending on the course. Please visit our course pages for our entry requirements. You can also look at our country specific criteria.
  • Have at least two years’ work experience.
  • Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 09 July 2026.
  • Chevening Scholars must be based in the UK.

To apply for the University of Kent Chevening Scholarship, interested and qualified applicants should;

  • All applicants who wish to be considered for an award at Kent are encouraged to select the university as their first preference within their Chevening application.
  • Applications for 2026/2027 Chevening Scholarships are open between 12:00 BST on 5 August 2025 and close at 12:00 GMT on 7 October 2025.
