The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology is inviting applications for the 2027 RMIT University Scholarship from suitably qualified applicants.
The RMIT Research Stipend Scholarship offers full coverage of applicants’ tuition as well as a stipend of $36,245 per annum for living expenses and a $1,540 relocation allowance.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS :
RSS scholarships are funded by the Australian government and RRSS scholarships are funded by RMIT University.
When you apply for a research scholarship through one of the University’s rounds, you will automatically be considered for all the scholarships for which you are eligible
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To be considered, you must :
- Have a bachelor’s degree requiring at least four years of full-time study in a relevant discipline awarded with honours.
- Have achieved at least a credit average in the final year
- Applicants may also submit a master’s degree that includes a research component comprised of at least 25% of a full time (or part-time equivalent) academic year.
- Have an RMIT equivalent level of academic attainment, taking into account previous study, relevant work experience, research publications and other research experience.
- Have not completed a graduate research program at the same or higher course level. For example, Masters by Research applicants should not have already completed a Masters by Research or PhD
- not previously have held an RMIT or Commonwealth-funded postgraduate research scholarship unless terminated within six months of the scholarship’s commencent
RMIT BENEFITS
- A stipend of $36,245 per annum pro rata (full-time study).
- Selected International candidates are also awarded an RTP International Tuition Fee Offset Scholarship (RIFOS) or an RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarship (RRITFS)
- Australian and New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of Australia are provided with an RTP Fee Offset scholarship.
- Exemption from paying tuition fees for the maximum duration of their candidature
- A relocation allowance matching relocation cost in order to take up their postgraduate research program. Up to $515 per adult and $255 per child to a maximum of $1,540
- Paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave
